In 2007 I spent two weeks in Costa Rica photographing hummingbirds. These tiny and colourful birds flap their wings up to 80 times per second, and usually weigh little more than one or two grams. The four images on display were taken out of over 4000 images taken over the two weeks
This exhibition attempts to put together those images that capture some special moments that have occurred over the last few years, of wildlife in its natural environment, and shows some of the colour and form that I believe makes wildlife photography so special. For this exhibition I am showing my work on archival canvases, which is a new technology and guarantees a light fastness of 75 years. The pigments that are used are chemically the same as those used by artists over the centuries.
